Dr. Vaishali Sahu is an accomplished engineering professional with over 14 years of experience in academics and research in the field of Civil and Environmental Engineering. She is currently serving as Associate Professor and Officiating Head of the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at The NorthCap University, Gurugram, Haryana. Dr. Sahu earned her Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from SGSITS, Indore, her Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from IIT Roorkee, and completed her Ph.D. from The NorthCap University, Gurugram, reflecting a strong academic foundation from premier institutions.

Her areas of specialization include waste and resource management, sustainable solid waste management, water and wastewater treatment processes, and recycle and reuse potential of. Dr. Sahu has made significant scholarly contributions, having published over 32 research papers in reputed national and international peer-reviewed journals, authored one book, and presented more than 15 research papers at national and international conferences. She also serves as a reviewer for several reputed international journals, contributing to the advancement of high-quality research in environmental engineering.

Dr. Sahu has an extensive mentoring and supervisory record, having guided 2 Ph.D. scholars, 11 M.Tech dissertations, and over 20 B.Tech projects in areas such as sustainable waste management, water resource management, pollution control, and environmental geotechnology. She is currently supervising five Ph.D. scholars at The NorthCap University. Additionally, she successfully completed a DST-funded research project titled “Experimental and Numerical Study of Single Pile Capacity Adjacent to Existing Buried Pipe System” in 2019, with a sanctioned grant of ₹25.41 lakhs, further highlighting her expertise in funded research and project execution.
