President, India - Uzbekistan Business Council

Shailja is a management graduate and has been associated with the corporate sector for a decade now. Her rich experience in Human Resources and Strategy spans across diverse industries over these years. Born in Gujarat and having travelled to different parts of the nation and culturally rich countries, she strongly believes in collaborating to empower each other. Her internship with the Indian National Trust of Art and Heritage has been a breakthrough experience that exposed her to the depleting significance of the rich historical monuments. Taking a step forward, her association with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), has been a contribution to conservation of Wildlife and Climate Change through strategic frameworks and interventions. Fluent in English and Hindi, Shailja cares about the ideological differences and varied perspectives in the foundational years of an individual. A lot needs to be done to mend an approach towards diversity & inclusion, significance of co-existence and much more. A native of the holy city Varanasi, Shailja has acquired her formal training in Vocal music and Kathak dance from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Prayagraj, and therefore she looks forward to exploring and promoting different forms of art. She believes in bringing multi cultural groups together to promote cordial relations between them. Every country proudly owns unique forms of arts which most of the time don't get the necessary support. It is this realization that makes her work towards bridging the cultural gap. She has an aim to explore different forms of art through all possible means of exchange and empower artisans & creative people. She believes in working towards creating interfaces for access to cultures & religions. Moved by the energy and multi tasking capability of women, Shailja aims at supporting workmanship and establishing job opportunities for women and locals which in turn shall contribute to the social and economic conditions of the country.
