Dr. Pooja Chakraborty is a distinguished forensic professional with a strong academic and practical background in dentistry and forensic sciences. She holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and an M.Sc. in Forensic Odontology and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. She presently serves as a Forensic Biology Expert with the Chandigarh Police and has earlier held key academic leadership roles, including Head of the Department and Vice Principal, Department of Forensic Sciences, Annai Fathima Arts and Science College (2021–2023). Her multidisciplinary expertise bridges dentistry, forensic biology, medical jurisprudence, and disaster victim identification.
Dr. Chakraborty has extensive teaching and training experience, having served as a Guest Lecturer at prestigious institutions such as Maharashtra National Law University, HVPS College of Law, and Durgapur Institute for Fire Safety and Management, delivering lectures to LLM, LLB, and postgraduate forensic science students. She has been invited as a keynote speaker and trainer at over 50 national and international conferences, workshops, and professional training programs across India, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and South America, including training for police academies, judicial institutions, dental associations, and disaster management bodies.
An active researcher and thought leader, Dr. Chakraborty has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers in the fields of forensic odontology, forensic genetics, disaster victim identification, child abuse reporting, and humanitarian forensics. She is a Life Member of IAFO, AFOHR, and INPAFO, and has been awarded Honorary Membership by the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science, Nigeria. Known for her strong communication skills, global outlook, and commitment to capacity building, she actively contributes to awareness campaigns, interdisciplinary training, and applied forensic research aimed at strengthening justice delivery systems worldwide.
