Aurora Martin

Dr. Aurora Martin is an anti-discrimination and gender expert. She is Senior Advisor in International Relations within the Romanian Government and Parliament (on behalf of National Agency for Equal Opportunities, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and National Council for Combating Discrimination). Recently she became Vice-president of the International Institute for Human Security, headquartered in Chicago, Vice-dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature, “Dimitrie Cantemir” Christian University and President of “Challenge” Zonta Club Bucharest. She has also served as Academic Lecturer in Good Governance, Non-Discrimination, Human Security, Human Trafficking, Gender Studies, Cultural Violence and Conflict Transformation at: Wilmington College, Ohio; Russian Presidential Academy for National Economy and Public Administration, Saint Petersburg; University of Belgrade; RomaTre University; Lomonosov Moscow State University; Khazar University, Baku; Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Bucharest and the European Center for Security Studies at George C. Marshall in Germany. Her work at George C. Marshall produced ground-breaking research on the shifting post-cold war standards of UN nation-states on addressing security, R2P, conflict management, and its implications for civil society. She is a founding member of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership for Sustainable Development, Editor-in-Chief and founder for several political science and human rights magazines. As a U.S. State Department Alumna in Sustaining Civic Participation in Minority Communities she develops a unique project in European Union, the “Mobile Museum of Modern Day Slavery”. She has been awarded the ‘Woman of the Year 2015’ in Romania for defending and promoting women’s rights, “Woman of Excellence for International Dissemination of Feminist Political Culture”, by the International Academy “Mihai Eminescu” 2018 and very recently, “Woman of the Decade in Security and Conflict Transformation” 2019 in the frame of the Annual Women Economic Forum. She published “Italian language for Political Science” and “Women Identity Representation in the Romanian Culture”. WomanScape.com celebrated her on January 2019.
